Payments

Other than the initial deposit that is collected by Race Roster, you may choose to pay any subsequent invoice in any of the currencies listed below, but you must let us know. Otherwise, as the majority of our clients are Canadian, we will send you your invoices in CAD.

You may also choose the method of your subsequent invoices from:
-etransfer (CAD only)
-credit card (CAD or USD only)
-Wise (any currency listed above)

Currency Conversion

If your travel package is not priced in CAD we will convert it to CAD assuming you did not request to pay in a different currency.

Understanding the Conversion

To save you money, we will convert the foreign currency value of your invoice to CAD using the actual exchange rate (not the banks inflated rate) plus a flat 4% exchange fee which should save you an average of 3.7% over what your credit card will charge you. As all cards are different, and some offer a “no foreign currency fee”, you may want to check what your card will charge you. However, even if your card has ‘no foreign currency fees’, we still may be less expensive as they will be using a different exchange rate!

For example, based on information taken from the five Canadian banks on April 2, 2025:

That's an average of 3.7% higher than the actual exchange rate and BEFORE a credit card foreign currency fee which are an average of another 2.5%.

That said, the average person that doesn't have a "no foreign currency fee" credit card will pay 6.3%!

So why do we charge the 4% flat fee? Quite simply, it costs us money to convert your CAD to the currency of the event as we can not pay, for example, London hotels or entries in CAD. We must pay them in GBP. 

Although these rates are as of April 2025, unless a bank runs a "discount" on currency exchange, the %'s won't change much, but we'll update this page every 6 months or so to be safe.
